Assignment for March 30

Here are the links to the websites we talked about in class the other day.

Witness: See it, Film it, Change it: http://www.witness.org/

Lost Boys of Sudan: http://www.lostboysfilm.com/ (This is the video Ashley asked about).

Surf around on the Witness Website. Then go to http://www.witness.org/index.php?option=com_rightsalert&Itemid=178 and watch one of the rights alert videos (not the one from class) and review it using the rubric I gave you in class.

blog from LONG ago...

homework 1.- Backstreetboys

content: 3 people lip syncing.
Layout: No real layout. They are singing infront of the black background. No costume change whatsoever. People just moves around.
Technical Elements: Camera was stationary in a low angle. Sound was good, however, the light from the left side made it harder for viewers to see.
Appearence: A little boring. No camera movement nor scene changes.

Homework 2 - White boy trying to sip sync Korean song.

content: A guy lipsycing to a Korean song.
Layout: Looks like he is using a web cam in his room. Poor background
Technical Elements: Used web cam. No scene and camera change.
Appearance: It is interesting because he is singing to a Korean song. If I look at him closely, his lipsyncing is not so great, but his face expression is funny.:)

FAQ about the Invisible Children

here's a link that answers a lot of the questions that I have about what is going on in uganda:

http://www.invisiblechildren.com/theMission/faq/

What's next?

After watching this video, i felt like i should help these children. Then i went home and thought about it for a second and i thought it would be better to help someone who is close to where i live, which is in Austria. Before i've watched this movie, i didn't even think about helping the poor people who live in Karlsplatz. After i watched this movie, suddenly i wanted to help these children from Uganda. I would like to help these children, but i think it is better to help who is close from me.
This movie was very touching. It made me think how fortunate I am with my life and how lucky I am not be born in such misery. I think that we all are able to do something to help those children and young adults. We can make publicity and promitions for that project and let friends and family member know about this serious problem the nation of Uganda is faced with. Every singel donation can make a difference if everybody thinks that they want to help. These three yound man have done a remarkable job, considering that they have never done anything like that before and how they are trying to help these kids by setting up thise major glbal project. We should not point the finger at the person next to us but on ourself thinkn that we ourselfs should decide if we want to help or not.
