Layout/Design: simple, not much thought into back ground color ect.
Technical Elements: alot of transition and entertaining dance moves
Overall: very cute, well done for little kids

content: two guys lip syncing to a backstreet boys song.

layout/design: consistant costume design however generally not asthetically pleasing

technical elements: no transition, lighting is uneven[right side alot darker, almost impossible to make out the guy]

over-all: pretty kickity bottom funny...very animated, technical/artistic aspects could have been done better.

Thursday, February 15, 2007

Content: Mutiple ppl lip syncing. IT pretty random, but a little funny at the same time too. No real plot/story.

Layout: some things are cool, like effects, but some are weird.

Real World VCS - Salil

Homework(2)

Content: Three guys remaking an already existing musicvideo in their own way.

Layout/Design: Somehow organized and more than just one background involved in the whole video.

Technical Elements: The lighting wasnt really taken care of. Some times people where in the scene even though they shoulkdn have been. The sound was really great since it covered the video sound.

Appearence: The overall appearence isnt bad, for a home made video there were some transissions used.

Homework(1)

Content: Two guys making their way to meet up and lipsyncing more than just one song.

Layout/ Design: They did a really good job with the design of their video. Many locations were involved and the story board was very well thought through.

Technical Elements: Many effects and transissions were used to make this whole production spicy. The lighting and the sound was very good, considering the fact that they didnt have any professional devices.

Appearence: This video makes a very good impression and entertains the the crowd in every aspect of it.

VCS Real World (Albin-Luke)

Lip Sync #2

Content: Its only one song and a guy acting like he's singing it. Not too complicated. Critical thinking and insight into something deeper like the meaning of the song are not present.

Layout/Design: There are no transitions, titles, and storyboard shows no progression. There is only one camera angle. Boring . . . .

Technical Elements: nothing too difficult here. The only thing he added was the blurry stuff at the beginning and I'm not sure how this added to the effectiveness of the video.

Appearance: Since there is only one camera angle, no transitions, or titles my attention was quickly lost.

Overall: boring, copy of the n'sync Chinese guy video. good example of what NOT to do.

Lip Sync #1

Content: Clear focus - they explain the story of the song the way they see it even though it is not how the author saw his video. I think this adds humor.

Layout/Design: Transitions are very effective between scenes. Good job storyboarding the song and then thinking of things to mimic the lyrics.

Technical Elements: Some evidence of a tripod being not being used, but otherwise the camera is relatively still. Transitions are effective. Titles aren't used, but they aren't needed.

Appearance: with the constant scene changes, different camera angles, and storyboard, the authors do a very good job of keeping the audience's attention

Overall: witty, funny, good looking, crisp transitions and keeps the audience's attention.

Commercial Example 1

Content: clear focus: to sell their "product", shows critical thinking skills and creativity.

Layout/Design: good transitions and titles/photos added. good storyboard that shows that the students planned out before they shot and edited.

Technical Elements: cheasy, smooth camera work, although probably not done with a tripod. the cheesiness adds to the effect of the video being cheesy and dorky. Titles work well with the presentation.

Appearance: kept my attention for the length of the film b/c i wanted to see how cheesy it would get.

Overall: slightly witty, kinda funny, and definately cheesy.

Overall:
